Good article! In addition to problems in marriage and instances of controlling husbands, women in the church have to deal with the problem of coercive controlling priests and ministers whom they may turn to for advice and who may give bad advice based on coercion/control and a desire to impose their own ideas of what faithfulness requires (abuse of conscience). That is extremely hard to deal with, damaging and makes women feel trapped in a world without hope of being listened to or cared for by men, the church .

Paul, if you are interested, I wrote about our family’s lessons from trauma with NFP just now and posted it on my substack page. I don’t know if it will help anyone, but I hope it does. No problem if you are not interested, but I saw you were talking about something similar so I thought maybe my experiences might help your thoughts.
