I’m so excited to share about a new project I’ve been working on this summer!
As followers here on Third Space know, for the past several few years I’ve been creating resources about spiritual abuse in the Catholic Church.
But in addition to both my written resources and the podcast (and on top of working as a therapist) I’ve also given talks and consulted with religious communities/leadership, and individually accompanied survivors of spiritual abuse as a personal life coach.
This summer I formalized and expanded all of this work, putting all of it under one business: Living Solidarity.

The name Living Solidarity comes from the Church's teaching on the virtue of solidarity.
This virtue is both personal and social. In a personal sense, solidarity moves someone to commit themselves to recognizing and respecting the infinite dignity of every human person, to seek others' good rather than exploiting others' vulnerability. Socially, solidarity seeks to reform cultures and institutions, tearing down structures of sin and injustice and building structures of justice and respect for human dignity.
I believe that institutional healing and reform in the Church can only happen when solidarity is practiced at every level.
Living Solidarity seeks to uphold the infinite dignity of every person by addressing the reality of spiritual abuse and abuse of conscience in the Catholic Church. Living Solidarity helps to build a Church of integrity and solidarity by:
Accompanying survivors of spiritual abuse with trauma-informed life coaching
Equipping Church leaders and institutions to confront systemic harm
Creating resources grounded in psychological research and the Church's Social Teaching
Are you trying to better understand your experiences of spiritual abuse in the Catholic Church? Are you looking for someone to accompany you as you recover from spiritual harm and betrayal? Are you looking for a space to process through spiritual struggles and religious deconstruction? Then trauma-informed life coaching may be helpful for you.
I have experience coaching and accompanying Catholics, non-Catholics, current and former members of religious communities, clergy, spiritual directors, and a wide range of individuals recovering from spiritual abuse.
Life coaching with me is a collaborative process where you’re able to set goals, grow in self-understanding, be more integrated, and increase your freedom to be the kind of person you want to be.

Does your community or organization want to be more trauma-informed? Are you looking for ways to help safeguard your community/organization against spiritual abuse and abuse of conscience? Do you want your community/organization to better support survivors of abuse?
I have led workshops, offered trainings, presented talks, and created resources for religious communities, seminaries, religious superiors, spiritual directors, and Catholic non-profits. I can offer in-person or online talks or trainings to meet the needs of your organization.
