Next week the presidents of the world’s national bishops conferences (think the USCCB) are all gathering with Pope Leo for a week to discuss Pope Francis’s apostolic exhortation on the family, Amoris Laetitia. The event is titled: Ten years after Amoris laetitia: proclaiming the Gospel with families today.
This seemed like a fitting occasion for me to talk about why I love Amoris Laetitia so much. I’ll be going live at 12:30pm (EST) on Monday.
Amoris was a pivotal document for me in my own deconstruction away from a rigid and transactional faith to a faith grounded on the gratuitous love of God. It’s also a document that I go back to often in my work to address spiritual abuse and abuse of conscience in the Church.
Join the live Substack Live on Monday, bring your questions, and let’s discuss this document.
